Shiv Ratri celebration at the Shivdham, Orlando Fl

Wednesday and Thursday :

8am: Pujariji  performed the homam

9am: Swamiji performed   Shri Rudra Homam

Friday Shivratri Day:

8am: Pujariji  performed the abhishekam

9am: Swamiji performed   Shri Rudra Homam

1. Inspite of rain and incremental weather in Orlando on that day, Shivdham celebrated Shivratri with enthusiasm (see video by clicking on the link). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ibo-Fz4u-k

2. Swamiji Chidghananand Parivrajak, brought out all aspects of of this auspicious day through homam, Abhishekams (see video) and Bhajans.

3. Temple had flown in priests (see video) from Chicago and New York. They brought divinity and sanctity to the occasion.

4.  Offering Thali (see video) was made available to devotees at the gate.

5.  After the first Abhishekam, devotees were offered a grand vista of the Murti Darshan with a beautiful river rock back drop (see video) in red and brown. So mgnificient was the view that several of them jumped for their cameras and recorded to pictures to their heart’s content.
6.  After mid night, devotee’s penance was put to test. But with Swamiji’s support most of the fifty attendees sailed through.

7.  At 3 am  ShivParvati Vivah was performed &  the devotional chanting by Swamiji helped us sail through night.

8.  At 4 am a Navagraha pooja was performed by the priests.
9.  At about 5 am Purnahuti Homam was performed in the eastern part of the temple premises and Devotees braved the stinging cold and carried out the homam. Warmth of the little fire,  kindled the deepest of the philosophical thoughts in us when the day broke open and we headed for our home.
