Swami Chidghan Anand

Swami Chidghan Anand (Swami Ji) serves the religious and spiritual needs of the Orlando Hindu community at the Shri Shivdham  Hindu Temple. As a direct disciple of the internationally renowned yogi H.H. Viswatma Bawra Ji Maharaj, Swamiji is well versed in Hindu scriptures, Hindu philosophy and Hindu spirituality.

An enigmatic thinker and philosopher, he travels the world in a mission to spread spirituality among the masses, regardless of cast, creed, color, origin or religion.

Swamiji has always been a seeker of knowledge. He left Suriname, his birthplace for India to discover his roots and spiritual knowledge. As a young man he traveled to Holland from India to further his schooling and received a master’s degree in Computer Engineering in 1984.

While in Holland he was a leader of several youth groups and congregations, as well as serving as a priest for more than a decade. Upon receiving a request from his Guru to further his knowledge in the Hindu religion, Swamiji left a successful seven year computer profession to return to the Land of Spirituality and Humanity, India.

In India he immersed himself in the selfless pursuit of universal truths by studying Hindu scriptures under the personal guidance of his spiritual master, Guru Brahm Rishi Viswatma Bawra Ji Maharaj.

Guru Maharaj initiated Swamji in the Vaishnav Sanyaas (renunciation form worldly material life) order in 1995 after years of vigorous penance and study. Since then Swamiji has been a regular traveler to India, Holland, England, Belgium, Norway, Sweden, Singapore, Thailand, Suriname, Guyana, Canada and USA to spread his spiritual message of universal truths.
